What is senior downsizing help?
It's hands-on help with a later-in-life move, often called senior move management. We sort belongings with you, coordinate trusted local partners, get the house ready to list, and set up the new home. The goal is simple: take the stress off your family.
Do you move our belongings?
No. We don't transport or store belongings. A trusted, licensed local moving partner does the move. We share the plan with them, keep the schedule, and are there on move day to direct where things go.
How is this different from a moving company?
A moving company packs the truck and drives your things to the new home. We handle everything around that: sorting what goes, planning what fits, coordinating donations and the other partners, getting the house ready to list, and setting up the new place so it feels like home.
Who pays the movers and other partners?
You do, directly. You hire and pay the moving company, cleaners, landscapers, handymen, and junk haulers for their own work, and you see their prices before anything is booked. Our price covers our part: the planning, sorting, coordinating, and being there.
What does coordinating partners actually involve?
We bring in the right trusted local partners for the job, get you clear prices upfront, schedule them in the right order around your move and listing dates, meet them at the house so your family doesn't have to, check the work, and keep everyone on one shared timeline.
Do we still need a realtor or an estate sale company?
If the house is being sold, yes, you'll want a real estate agent. If there's a lot worth selling, an estate sale company can help. We don't replace either one. We work alongside them so everyone is on the same schedule, and we can point you to established local companies if you don't have one yet.
Who decides what to keep, give away or sell?
You and your family, always. We organize and guide. Anything you're unsure about goes in a "hold" pile, and nothing leaves the house without your OK. If siblings see things differently, we help keep conversations calm and focused.
What does the free walkthrough include?
About an hour at the home. We talk about your timeline and goals, walk through the rooms, and then send a written plan and price within 2 business days. There's no obligation.
How do estate sales and consignment work?
This fits into our Ready to Sell and Full Transition packages. We connect you with established local estate sale companies and consignment shops. They set and explain their own commission directly to you. We coordinate the schedule so the sale fits your move and listing dates.
Our family lives out of town. Can you still help?
Yes. Your family decides together, wherever everyone lives. It helps to pick one main point of contact for scheduling, and we share updates and photos with everyone who should be in the loop.
Do you help after someone has passed away?
Yes. When a family is grieving, the details of a house can feel like too much. We can sort a loved one's home at a gentle pace, set aside keepsakes and important papers for the family, and get the house ready to list, working alongside estate sale companies and other local help. Call whenever you're ready.
